1. (30 pts.) Several baseball writers are asked to vote their preferences among the following four baseball players to determine the winner of the Holy-Cow-Award: Nellie Fox (F), Ernie Banks (B), Dick Allen (A), and Phil Cavarretta (C). The votes of the writers are summarized in the following preference table.

3. (20 pts.) A country is composed of four states, White Plume (WP), Barrier Peaks (BP), Hommlet (H), and Tamoachan (T). The population of each state, in thousands, is given in the following table.

(a) A loan of $85,000 is to be amortized with 9 equal
semiannual payments. If the interest rate is
10%, compounded semiannually, what is the periodic payment?
(b) A loan of $100,000, with interest at 12% compounded quarterly, is to be repaid by making several equal quarterly payments of $7,961.08. Fill in the first two rows of the amortization schedule, for the first two quarterly payments.
